Craig Says # 9 - Living The Stream...

With the new 2021 album on the ground and running our attention turns to establishing a constant stream; which sounds like more of a job for a urologist but we are 'Living The Stream'....

On a sad and serious note 2021 has seen the passing of the man who inspired me to get my first guitar, Gerry Marsden, of 'Gerry and The Pacemakers' fame. It was his movie 'Ferry Cross The Mersey' that I saw when skipping school one day and although other artists would come along and influence me, it was the initial chance viewing of Gerry's movie that got me hooked on all things guitar...

Gerry Marsden

Phil Spector, was renowned for his "Wall of Sound" production also passed away. His career was one of music's most controversial careers, and despite  ending up in prison for murder, his legacy of hits and groundbreaking recording techniques will be with us forever...

Other 2021 deaths include Mary Wilson of The Supremes, keyboardist Mick Bolton, who played with Mott the Hoople and others; producer Steve Brown, whose credits include the Cult, Freddie Mercury and Wham!; Megaforce Records founder and the woman often credited for Metallica's success, Marsha Zazula; Lou Reed keyboardist Michael Fonfara; Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogert; and New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain, who had been diagnosed with cancer two years earlier.

Hopefully the rest of 2021 will be better for musicians around the world as we all nervously approach our next birthdays with a mix of optimism and enthusiasm...

Thanks to the technology of digital marketing and distribution some pretty bad taste album covers have been replaced with slightly better covers; I have to say in hindsight the 'Passing Shadows' cover made with cartoons in 3D-Paint sucked the most...

The new covers will drift into stores in the next few weeks

"I'm Not Giving The Game Away' got a reasonable review and like always the reviewer gave me a totally different perspective on the album which is always good when planning the next album...

READ REVIEW

The follow up album for 'I'm Not Giving The Game' is nearly recorded with just two tracks to go and the process has been interesting to say the least... It's had two title tracks so far with the one that will probably take the number one spot being recorded yesterday and surprisingly sticks out the most on every level... but that could still change...

The post production work such as final mixing and mastering will happen over the next month or two with a release date to come at some point sooner or a bit later in 2021...

Some of you may have seen the advertising on Facebook recently which has reached a wider audience worldwide and although the streaming figures are still modest the numbers are heading in the right direction which is the general idea and a long haul...
